For me I won't say this was a quick read but it provided a far better understanding of how the 'creation' of religion came about. The history gave me a better understanding and respect for all faiths. Knowledge takes away fear and brings understanding and with understanding, peace.

Very informative but difficult to follow without going back to previous chapters
Although dated with respect to the thoroughness and detail known today, it is an excellent research product for its time. The product is comprehensive and cohesive, which is what I look for in an exposition. Language may be archaic, but the concepts delivered are solid.
This was extremely helpful with a class I was taking at AUM. There was a lot of new information given and the bibliography was great.
Clear and concise use of language, surprising for the time it was written - late 1800s. Points made are thought provoking and made without bias in terms of the authors beliefs.
